Smarter Everyday
Privacy Policy
Effective August 28, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Smarter Everyday collects, uses, and protects information when learners and parents use the mobile app, SMS or WhatsApp learning channels, and related services.
Information we collect
- Account and identity information: display name, verified phone number, Google account subject, email address, and family-account relationships.
- Learning information: enrollments, answers, skipped questions, drafts, scores, accuracy, assessed levels, progress, reports, and reward requests.
- Communication information: delivery addresses, channel preferences, message history, delivery status, and support communications.
- Device and operational information: device identifier, platform, timezone, notification token and preferences, session and security records, and limited network/log information used to operate and protect the service.
How we use information
We use information to authenticate accounts, deliver and grade practice, adapt question selection, show progress and reports, support family features and rewards, send configured reminders, prevent abuse, troubleshoot the service, and comply with legal obligations.
Google account information
If you choose Google sign-in, we receive only the basic identity information needed to sign you in: your Google account identifier, name, and verified email address. We do not request access to Gmail, Drive, contacts, calendars, or other Google product data. Google sign-in is optional; phone verification and invitations remain available.
Service providers
We use service providers to run the service, including Google Cloud for hosting and data storage, Google and configured AI providers for learning-content operations, Twilio for SMS and WhatsApp delivery, and Expo for mobile push notifications. They process information only as needed to provide their services and under their own contractual and privacy obligations.
Sharing and selling
We do not sell personal information or use it for third-party advertising. We may disclose information to service providers, when directed by the account holder or parent/guardian, to protect users or the service, or when required by law.
Children and family accounts
Smarter Everyday supports family-linked learner accounts. A parent or guardian should set up or authorize use for a child who cannot legally consent on their own, and may request access to or deletion of the linked child's information. Contact us if you believe a child provided information without appropriate authorization.
Retention and security
Verification codes expire after 10 minutes and mobile sessions after 45 days. Other account, learning, delivery, and security records are retained while needed to provide the service, preserve learning history, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations. We use access controls, encrypted transport, hashed session and verification secrets, and restricted production administration. No system can guarantee absolute security.
Your choices and requests
You can control notification and fallback-channel preferences in the app. You may request access, correction, export, or deletion by contacting us. We may verify your identity and authority over a learner account before acting.
Changes
We may update this policy as the service changes. We will update the effective date and provide additional notice when required.
